Occupational Therapy

At bMindful Psychology, we offer expert sensory assessments, personalised sensory profiles, and practical support plans to help children and young people who may struggle with focus, sensory sensitivities, or regulation. Using the gold-standard Sensory Processing Measure – Second Edition (SPM-2), we assess sensory integration across environments and provide an easy-to-understand Sensory Profile and Passport, complete with tailored strategies and sensory diet suggestions.

Our support includes 1:1 interventions, environmental adaptations, staff/parent training, and guidance for EHCPs or care plans. This service is ideal for schools, foster/residential care, CAMHS pathways, and parents/carers seeking clarity and strategies. As one parent shared, “Since the sensory profile, school now understands my son’s needs – and he’s thriving!”

What We Assess

We conduct comprehensive assessments across key areas:

  • Daily Activities: Self-care, school tasks, play, and sleep.

  • Emotional Regulation: Coping strategies, mood, anxiety, and stress triggers.

  • Sensory Processing: Sensitivities, integration challenges, and calming strategies.

  • Motor Skills: Fine and gross motor abilities affecting participation and confidence.

  • Executive Functioning: Organisation, focus, memory, and problem-solving.

  • Routines & Structure: Daily habits and their impact on wellbeing.

  • Social Skills: Communication, empathy, and peer interaction.

  • Environment: Home, school, and community influences.

  • Strengths & Interests: Personal motivators to support therapy goals.

  • Risk & Safety: Behavioural risks and safety awareness.

We use evidence-based tools like MOHOST, Sensory Profile, COPM, and conduct observations, interviews, and school visits.

Our Assessments

Sensory Based Environmental Assessments

Our Sensory-Based Environmental Assessments, delivered by experienced Occupational Therapists, provide organisations, schools, and families with practical solutions to create calmer, more inclusive, and productive spaces. By evaluating environments through a sensory lens, we identify potential stressors - such as lighting, sound, or layout - and offer tailored, low-cost recommendations that make a meaningful difference.

Whether in classrooms, offices, community settings, or homes, our assessments enhance wellbeing, focus, and participation, particularly for individuals with sensory sensitivities or neurodivergent needs. With flexible packages ranging from one-off audits to ongoing staff training, we support you in building environments that truly work for everyone.
